The best way to use your natural skin products
Many people have their own facial skin care regimen or facial treatment involving multiple skin care products while others may need information on how to use them. There is somewhat of an order in using multiple skin care products and the following is how I use them and how I believe is the best way to use them to maximize your results!
Cleansers are normally used twice per day in the morning and at night.
Toners are also used twice per day in the morning and at night after you cleanse.
Facial Moisturizers and Serums
Next is the Facial moisturizers and they are used morning and at night after the toner. You will need to decide on what type of moisturizer or serum you want to you use and when. Below are some general guidelines.
Our moisturizers are best described by their title. They are generally applied in the morning and at night after cleansing and toning. Depending on your skin type and what benefits you are looking for will depend on which moisturizers you use.
Facial Serums are almost always used at night since they are mainly oil. Some people use the moisturizer before the facial serum, while others use just the serum. I use both, I put the moisturizer on after I cleanse and tone and right before bed I apply the serum. I also dab the facial serum around the corner of my eyes for those fine lines known as crow’s feet!
Cleansing Grains for Exfoliation
The cleansing grains are dry and are meant to be mixed with the facial cleanser and used at least twice per week. It is best to use the exfoliating grains at night. I use the grains with my cleanser and double rinse my face to make sure all the grains are washed off. If you want to do a natural dermabrasion / peel type exfoliation you can at least once per week (I personally do this). Take a cotton pad and soak it with lemon juice, then apply a small amount of organic brown sugar on the moistened cotton pad and gently rub it all over your face and then rinse it off. The lemon and organic brown sugar naturally contain ingredients which give you a natural facial peel effect. Whichever exfoliation method you use, your skin will feel very soft and refreshed afterwards. I do them both!
Facial Clay Masks
The facial mask product is also dry and contains several types of clay and botanicals. You can mix the mask with filtered water or the toner to make a paste. Once you make the paste, apply the paste to your face, let it dry and then rinse it off with warm water. This facial mask combination is wonderful and your face will feel super clean and amazingly soft when you are through! Masks are generally done once or twice per week and usually are done on different days than the days you exfoliate. I use the grains and exfoliate my skin one evening and then use the mask the following evening. Remember to follow up with your moisturizers and serums after you use your facial grains or your facial clay mask.
